Mr. A. S. M. Roshan

The Promising Agriculturist of the Year 2021

Mr. Roshan born in 1976 in Katugastota, he has received his primary and secondary education from St’ Anthony’s College, Kandy. Entered to faculty of agriculture University of Peradeniya in 1997. In year 2013 he joined the Sri Lanka Agriculture service and first served as a lecturer in School of Agriculture Kundasale.

He was competent to receive the scholarship awarded by the Australian government and acquired Master’s degree in Agricultural economics and He has won the Western Australian Dissertation Award for research undertaken on "Consumer Valuation of commodities Certified under Sri Lanka Good Agriculture Practices (SL-GAP)"

Since 2015 serving as an assistant director of agriculture in division of agribusiness development and contribute to implement and promote SL-GAP program towards local and international markets. He served for national committees i.e. technical committee on GAP standard preparation, subcommittee of Presidential Taskforce on Green Agriculture, Initiated and developed the One stop Super and agrifresh chain of outlets managed by the DOA to assist farmers to resolve the marketing issues in perishables.
